Toronto FC will be kicking off against Columbus Crew this Thursday, 7:30 AM (PST), at their home stadium in BMO Field, Toronto City, Canada. Will Toronto FC be able to maintain its three-game win streak? Or will Columbus Crew finally catch a break from their consistent losses in their past nine games? 

 

At the moment, Toronto FC is standing in 11th place in the Eastern Conference with five wins, three draws, and eight losses. Despite losing their game against the Bulls, they were able to come back with a 2-1 win against Atlanta in their previous game. The win gave a spotlight to 19-year-old sub, Ralph Priso, as he scored the games leading goal, which was also his first goal of the season. In terms of team leaders, the reds have Jiménez with seven goals in 16 matches, Pozuelo with four goals in 14 matches, and Osorio with four goals in 12 matches. Despite their three-game streak, Toronto is still six points behind the playoffs; meaning they would have to put in much more work to inch their way up the Eastern Conference standings. However, Toronto FC has fared pretty well for themselves when it comes to playing home games.  

 

Columbus Crew is currently behind Toronto FC at 12th place in the Eastern Conference with four wins, six draws, and five losses. Compared to last season, they are seven places off of where they used to stand. In their past few games, they have only been able to accomplish two wins with the rest either being draws or losses. Their most recent win was against Atlanta with a 1-2 score. However, they have only been able to secure draws in their games after against Charlotte FC and Real Salt Lake (nil-nil). Despite this, these results show that they are slowly moving out of their losing slump and may have a chance against Toronto FC in this upcoming game.  

 

In the two teams head to head record, Columbus FC was able to win two out of five games whereas Toronto won three of them. And for the upcoming game this Thursday, it is looking like the odds are in both teams' favor with a 1-1 draw.
