Mary C
The San Miguel Beermen will face the Meralco Bolts in the PBA Governors' Cup quarterfinals on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 3 PM, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, in an attempt to maintain their championship hopes alive. A win for the Beermen will necessitate a rubber match for a place in the semifinals. Leo Austria, the head coach of San Miguel, is well-concerned about the high expectations that have been placed on his team, which now includes NBA veteran Shabazz Muhammad as an import. On the league's official website, Austria stated, "Do-or-Die." “We want to be able to go to the next round, so we have to give this game our all.” The Beermen are looking to repeat their March 5 115-110 victory over the Bolts. San Miguel overcame a 26-point deficit to win an astonishing comeback triumph. San Miguel, on the other hand, was able to dominate thanks to Muhammad's excellent shooting, which saw him score 45 of his 57 points in the second half. Austria stated that he does not want his team to get off to a sluggish start against a formidable Meralco club that is undoubtedly seeking vengeance for their painful loss. Bolts' head coach Norman Black, on the other hand, is pleased to have a two-to-beat lead, which implies they only need to win once to go to the semifinals.
