Everton is set to host Newcastle United at the Goodison Park in Premier League action this Thursday.

Everton ranks 17th in the Premier League, with a record of 6-4-16 and 22 points, same as Watford who is 18th in the Premier League. Last Sunday, Everton was not able to reign in their own home when they fought against the Wolves. The club is currently out of the bottom three, but it won’t be too long until the Toffees enter the relegation zone. The next step for Lampard’s men is a home game against Newcastle United who are aiming for a top-half finish for this season.

Newcastle is 14th in the Premier League with a record of 7-10-11 and 31 points. For this game, we may see Newcastle as the underdogs, but how they managed to win four out of their past six meetings with Everton along with each team’s last three encounters in the Premier League, it remains a baffling occurrence. Unfortunately for the Toffees, they have lost four of their latest league games, without scoring even just one goal. On top of that, they seem unable to defend a clean sheet brought upon by their lack of creativity and goal-scoring threat. Newcastle, on the other hand, was able to win four, drawn one, and lost one of the last six outings in the Premier League.

Though the home team was lucky in the past for winning five out of their six games in the league at home, they were only able to have one win from their last eleven games. Newcastle currently have a record of one loss from their last ten games which was their game against Chelsea. Both teams have players who will be absent on the day of the match, but it is undeniable that the visitors are in way better condition than the hosts, which is why they should be able to come out of this game victorious.

4:15 AM (PST), Thursday, March 17, 2022. Goodison Park, Liverpool, England.
