Home of Arsenal, the Emirates Stadium in London, England is hosting this Thursday’s game against mighty Liverpool F.C. Liverpool is caught in a bind with current ruling team Manchester City as they fight for a tight spot at number one. Manchester United is only four points above Liverpool with 22-4-3 garnering them 70 points while Liverpool stands with 20-6-2 earning them 66 points.  Home team Arsenal is lurking closely behind at the fourth spot with 16-3-7. With Liverpool being the bigger predator among the two, what will Arsenal pull to ensure a win— that is if they can win at all. Here are the details along with our thoughts on the upcoming game.

As the season started, Arsenal was a little shakier and less consistent than their competitors, but as the season progressed, Arsenal has shown linear and quantifiable improvement. In terms of organization, defense, and formation, they’ve been doing their homework. Per their last 11 games, Arsenal have won nine matches and accumulated the same amount of points as Liverpool and Manchester City. With this development, attacking midfielder Martin Ordegaard and manager Mikel Arteta now have higher confidence in Arsenal, that this match will be a bearer of how far the team has come.

Liverpool, however, is a completely different ballgame to the teams Arsenal have recently dominated, and Arteta knows that. Liverpool has one of the best frontliners in Europe. If we look at their checks and numbers, they are one of the most intimidating teams out there. They could easily topple over Man City if they play their cards right and beating Arsenal might just be the notch they need on their shiny belt.

Ultimately, we’re sorry to be the bearer of bad news for Arsenal fans, but this Thursday, we are expecting to see Liverpool outmaneuver the hopeful Arsenals. Arsenal do have come a long way, but Liverpool has been way too pristine in their play this season. It’s 1-2 in favor of Liverpool.

4:15 AM (PST), Thursday, March 17, 2022. Emirates Stadium, London, England.
