Mary C
POTENTIAL STARTING LINEUPS: PHILADELPHIA 76ERS: PG | Tyrese Maxey SG | James Harden SF | Matisse Thybulle PF | Tobias Harris C | Joel Embiid DENVER NUGGETS: PG | Monte Morris SG | Will Barton SF | Aaron Gordon PF | Jeff Green C | Nikola Jokic The Denver Nuggets are on their way to visit the Philadelphia 76ers on an upcoming game this Tuesday, March 15 at 7:30 AM (Phillipine Standard Time) at the Wells Fargo Center. With two more than decent teams going head to head, this should be an interesting feat for the fans and analysts to see. The Sixers are currently third in the Eastern Conference with 40-25. They’re one of the few teams that seem to play better away; Home, 19-14, Away, 21-11. The Nuggets come closely behind in the West at sixth with 40-28; Home, 20-13, Away, 20-15. Below is the breakdown of each team’s season averages. PTS REB AST STL BLK TO FG% 3P% FT% Sixers 108.4 42.2 23.1 7.6 5.4 11.7 46.1 35.7 81.9 Nuggets 111.1 44.2 27.3 7.3 3.8 13.8 47.6 35.1 79 Sixers Nuggets PTS IN THE PAINT 44.3 47.9 2ND CHANCE PTS 11.3 12.4 FASTBREAK PTS 12.7 12.8 By a hair, the Nuggets slightly outperform the Sixers in terms in numbers, but there’s one problem: Denver’s Nikola Jokic is singlehandedly leading the team in points, rebonds, assists, and blocks. How is that a problem? You might ask when GSW has Stephen Curry, and the Lakers have LeBron James carrying their teams. Any team with one particular player “carrying” them is faced with a glaring problem. What happens if they get overloaded, injured, or whatever the case is that they can’t play? Just November last year, the Sixers’ Joel Embiid was out for five games, and Philly lost all of them. But even then, the Sixers had James Harden and Andre Drummond in their roster to at least straighten things out. Jokic doesn’t have the help he needs at the moment, and that creates a major imbalance. If the Nuggets want to win, they’d better tap on the Sixers struggling defense, but then the Nuggets aren’t all that powerful in the offense department, another disadvantage. To conclude, odds are piling up against the Nuggets regardless of their (slightly) better statistics. Looks like the Sixers will turn out victorious in this game, folks. Embiid and Harden will be trying very hard to bury that 29-point difference in their lost against the Nets, and it’ll all come down pouring on the Nuggets. In the end, predictions are still predictions, and there’s only one way to find out this Tuesday. 7:30 AM, Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, PA.
