Newcastle United are set to visit Southampton F.C. at St. Mary’s Stadium in Southampton, England, this 11th at 3:30 AM Philippine Standard Time. With the Saints (Southampton) 9th on the Premier League’s table, they’re at a considerably average placement. Newcastle, on the other hand, sit quite dangerously at 14th. The two teams have 8-11-8 and 6-10-10 records respectively.

If we take a look at the numbers, the Saints evidently trump Newcastle. In terms of history though, the Saints have never won the Premier League, and the only major trophy they have is a FA Cup way back in 1976. In comparison to Newcastle, the team has become an English champion four times, deemed England's 9th most successful club of all time and six-time FA cup winners. Regardless of this rich history though, Newcastle don’t seem to be fairing as well this season. With only three places away from relegation, they need to make sure they don’t slip into the abyss.

In conclusion, it’s pretty easy to predict where this fixture is headed. Southampton is expected to win over Newcastle, with a chance of a draw larger than Newcastle’s odds. If Newcastle United suddenly gain their fire and vigor back though, that would make for a captivating game. There’s only one way to find out, and that’s to watch this Friday’s game. May the better team win!
