As the Cleveland Cavaliers reign supreme in their game against the Washington Wizards, the Minnesota Timberwolves are next to visit the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse to try their luck. Like most teams, the Cavaliers are trailblazers when playing at home, but will the Timberwolves show them who’s boss in their own turf? Tuesday, March 1, 2022, 8 AM (PST) in Cleveland, Ohio, it’s the Cleveland Cavaliers versus the Minnesota TImberwolves.

Hoping to continue their win streak, the home team Cavaliers are currently 4th in the Eastern Conference with a 36-24 record; 19-9 of which are home and 17-15 away. Per Cleveland’s last 10 games, six have been won with the remaining four lost wherein they’ve averaged 102.6 points, 23.1 assists, 7.1 steals, and 4.5 blocks per game. Darius Garland leads the teams points and assists while Jarrett Allen leads rebounds for Cleveland.

Away team Minnesota Timberwolves, on the other hand, are 7th in West with a 32-29 record;18-12 home, 14-17 away. The Timberwolves just recently lost to the 76ers by 31 points so we can definitely see them feeling some fire to redeem themselves through this match with Cleveland. Per Minnesota’s last 10 games, six have been won and four were lost. Averaged 118.8 points, 42.9 rebounds, 7.2 steals, and 5.9 blocks per game. Karl-Anthony Towns leads the teams points and rebounds, while D’Angelo Russell settles their assists.

As the numbers are neck and neck, it’s quite difficult to wage on a winner but we are leaning on the Cavaliers, and here’s why. The Timberwolves are in bad shape and are in a bad place right now. Minnesota has a good roster but a terrible system; they don’t utilize each player’s strengths well enough and their defense hasn’t shown improvement in a while. With Minnesota’s current performance against the Cavs, who are considered one of the top-performing teams this season, their skill goes beyond the numbers now. It’s the Cavaliers for this one.
