Mary C Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 POTENTIAL STARTING LINEUPS: TEXAS TECH RED RAIDERS PG | Terrence Shannon SG | Davion Warren SF | Kevin McCullar PF | Kevin Obanor C | Bryson Williams KANSAS JAYHAWKS PG | Remy Martin SG | Ochai Agbaji SF | Christian Braun PF | Jalen Wilson C | David McCormack Old rivals for the second time this new year, it’s Texas Tech Red Raiders against the Kansas Jayhawks. Tuesday, 10 AM, the two teams with quite the history are settling it in the court once again for the NCAA men’s basketball. Texas Tech will be visiting the University of Kansas for their match at the Allen Fieldhouse, hoping to erase their unsavory string of losses from the Jayhawks. Since 2018, Texas Tech has won three of its last nine meetings but before that, Texas had a 15-game losing streak to Kansas. In total, Kansas has a 38-7 all-time record against Texas. Still, things are looking up for Texas Tech as they actually won over Kansas this January 8, 2022. Now things are interesting— who will get their chance at redemption? The Red Raiders are on fire and it’s not solely because of their top-tier defense. Texas Tech has scored around 70 points in four of their last six games. The team has three players in the current roster that have been included among the Top 25 scorers of the Big 12. Bryson Williams comes with 12.6pts, McCullar with 11.6pts, and Davion Warren with 10.3pts. Player Terrence Shannon Jr. was, unfortunately, unincluded despite his 12.8 per game because he hasn’t played enough games to qualify yet. Texas Tech definitely got stronger as Adonis Arms, Clarence Nadolny, and Daniel Batcho developed more confidence in their play. Newly promoted head coach, Mark Adams, proves to be the master chemist in creating better team chemistry regardless of only being nine months in his position. Currently on a four-game winning streak, their last loss was to Texas Tech last January 8. This season, Ochai Agbaji and Christian Braun have been the Jayhawks' most consistent scorers. Jalen Wilson, on the other hand, is coming off a double-double against Kansas State and averaging around nine points and more than six rebounds per game. Outsiders have undervalued Dajuan Harris' contributions but luckily in the backcourt, Remy Martin is the team's explosive. He was consistently giving the Jayhawks everything they needed until he got hurt at the start of Big 12. His play and playing time have been erratic since then. He hasn't scored in double digits since Kansas defeated Stephen F. Austin on December 18. It seems after some time, Texas Tech has gotten their mojo back, however, we’re still seeing Kansas win this one. Kansas never loses at home, and one ought to remember that. Nonetheless, the game will leave fans and spectators on the edge of their seats as this game will be one to watch out for. January 25, 10:00 AM, PST. Allen Fieldhouse, Kansas University. Quote
