After a year of what seems to be an equal alternating of wins and losses, the Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks are back to battle for greatness in NBA’s Season 76. This Wednesday at the Madison Square Garden, the Timberwolves will be paying the Knicks a visit for a chance at redemption after being defeated last December 29. Read on to see what we think will unfold this January 19, 2022, at 8:30 AM.

Per their last games, the Minnesota Timberwolves were able to dominate the daunting Golden State Warriors in a 119-99 game. The New York Knicks on the other hand, also won against the fairly challenging Atlanta Hawks with 108-117.

In terms of season averages per game, the Minnesota Timberwolves marginally outperform the New York Knicks in almost all aspects; points, rebound, assists, steals, blocks, turnovers, and field goal percentage. The only categories the Knicks outweigh them on are the three-point field goal percentage and free throws percentage. Here’s a breakdown of the numbers:

Numbers aside, It’s worth noting that player injuries will be affecting each team’s roster— one team garnering more injured players than the other. The Knicks have small forward Cam Reddish, point guard Kemba Walker, and center Nerlens Noel out for the game. The Timberwolves’ point guard Jordan McLaughlin is also out for Jan. 19’s game. Fortunately, though, leading players of both Minnesota (Karl-Antony Towns) and New York (Julius Randle) are very much alive and kicking to make sure the game is never dull.

Our take? We see the Minnesota Timberwolves winning by 62.5%. The team seems to be hungry for redemption following their loss from the Knicks last December and that’s how we can count on this match to be interesting. The Knicks, however, also stand a chance seeing that they’ll be aggressive enough to keep their 6-win streak. Let’s wait and see this Wednesday, at 8:30 AM, at the Madison Square Garden, New York City.
