Mary C
Following only their third road victory of the season, the Golden State Warriors will go to New York to take on Knicks. Jordan Poole scored a career-high 43 points on Sunday night as the Warriors defeated the Toronto Raptors, 126-110, without Steph Curry, who is sidelined indefinitely with a shoulder injury. In only their second game in a row without Curry, who is still recovering from an injury, the Warriors managed to win the first time in five tries without him this season. With 17 points each, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green performed admirably. Green also grabbed nine rounds. Golden State’s three-game losing run was broken by the victory as they attempt to maintain the status quo without Curry. Kevon Looney understands the significance of this period without Curry after recording a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. When the team triumphed without Curry, Looney stated "it shows how good we can be. Winning is never going to be easy when you’re without one of the league’s top players. We need to get used to attempting to succeed without him since he will be gone for a while. When he returns, hopefully we’re in a good spot." Going into this game against the Warriors, the defending NBA champions, the New York Knicks are having their finest season. The Knicks have won seven straight games over this stretch, including four on the road. In Indianapolis on Sunday, New York came back to defeat the Pacers 109-106. As the game entered its last minute, the lead had been exchanged 19 times. The Knicks managed to win after Julius Randle converted two of his six free throws in the last seconds. Randle recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and pulling down 14 rebounds. With 30 points, 11 of 22 shooting and three-point field goals in the victory, Jalen Brunson led the Knicks. For the hot Knicks, RH Barrett scored an individual 24 points. According to Randle, “To win on the road and like this, it was tough. It was a hard game, but we got it done”. Golden State Warriors and New York Knicks will have their match tomorrow, December 21, at 8:30 am PST.
