PBA Philippine Cup October 8 Games - 747 LIVE

The Magnolia Hotshots are 2 victories away from advancing to the PBA Philippine Cup championship round, and they believe they have grabbed possession of their best-of-seven semifinal series versus the Meralco Bolts.

The Bolts were defeated 92-78 by the Hotshots in the Don Honorio Ventura State University Gym in Bacolor, Pampanga.

Magnolia had to come back from a 12-point deficit in the first half with Lee leading a 15-0 run to make it 38-36 at halftime.

The Hotshots also took advantage of Meralco's off-night as the Bolts struggled to generate offensive traction, particularly in the second half.

The untimely absence of big players Raymond Almazan and Cliff Hodge in the third quarter made things even more difficult for the Bolts.

Almazan injured his leg early in the second half while Hodge was removed late in the third quarter for two technical fouls.

Lee had 28 points, and Ian Sangalang had 16 for the game. Calvin Abueva scored 11 points in the Hotshots' rout of the Bolts.

Meralco's Chris Newsome led the team with 18 points.

Magnolia took Game 1 of their best-of-seven series against Meralco, 88-79, to take the lead.  Magnolia is now leading 2-0.

Will this be a fast series? Or will Meralco Bolts fight back and give its fans hope?

On Wednesday, Marcio Lassiter scored the game-winning basket as the San Miguel Beermen defeated the TNT Tropang Giga, 98-96, in Game 2 of their best-of-seven semifinal series in the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup.

With six seconds left in the game, the ever-reliable guard blasted the layup, tying the game at 96-all and tying the series at 1-1.

Terrence Romeo led the way with 26 points, 24 in the second half, and four assists. Lassiter finished with seven points and eight rebounds.

RR Pogoy scored 21 points while Poy Erram and youngster Mikey Williams added 21 and 12 points, respectively, in another close game for both teams following an 89-88 win in GAME 1.

It has been another close game for both teams in the first game only a deficit of 1 point and on the 2nd game 2 points.  We can all see that each team is so talented, for they know what they are doing and how to execute to win.

3rd game will be played later at 6 PM today PST.

Let us hope they will give us a heart attack game again!
